Favorite Holiday Song

 Weihnactsmarkt Schloß Schönbrunn

David and I attended an Advent concert last night -- on accident.  It's a long story, but suffice it to say that the event was worthwhile and one that certainly got us in the spirit of the season and, at least for me, made me homesick.  It's a good thing that we're headed back to the States next week!

In addition to hearing traditional Christmas songs sung in several different languages, we listened to poetry and short stories about how Christmas is celebrated around the world.  It was lovely.  The only two songs that I knew, however, were the Christmas carol "O Holy Night" and the French Noël tune "Gloria in Excelsis Deo."  The German, Italian, Russian, and Finnish songs were all very very beautiful as well.

But last night got me thinking.  As far as Christmas songs go, what is my favorite?  Do I have just one favorite?  These three songs immediately came to my mind:

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Carol of the Bells
Baby It's Cold Outside (with Zooey Daschanel singing of course!)

What's your favorite Christmas song?

Baby It's Cold Outside is close to impossible to beat. Inspired by Elf, here's a little something to make you smile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6yYd6Pq7Ic

Happy seeing beautiful!
