Last Thursday evening we experienced yet another uniquely Vienna treat. We were among the other 100,000 people who attended the popular annual
Sommernachtskonzert (Summer Night Concert) at the Schloss Schönbrunn.

The
Vienna Philharmonic performed the open air concert with free admission in the beautiful ambiance of the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace. This year's concert was conducted by Russian director
Valery Gergiev, with Austrian violinist,
Benjamin Schmid, appearing as the soloist.
Perhaps you saw it on TV? Apparently the concert was broadcasted by more than 60 television networks worldwide. David and I watched it from our couch in Davis, CA last year. Um, this year was better.
